What else can I do in Grafton?

MUSIC IN THE PARK

Welcome to the Mississippi Half Step

Located in the historic Brainerd House, the Mississippi Half Step is a half step into the history of Grafton. This Queen Anne style home built by architect William Embley in 1885 is the inspiration for this cozy, welcoming restaurant.

In addition to its historical inspiration, the restaurant features a wide variety of menu items along with seasonal weekend dinner specials. Visit us on our infamous Wednesday All-You-Can Eat-Pasta Night or our Thursday night Bar-B-Q to sample our mouthwatering ribs.

The Mississippi Half Step was named by owners Jim & Carla Newton. The restaurant which gets its name in part because it's about a "half step" from the Mississippi River and in part from the title of a Grateful Dead song is a must experience destination if you're traveling the Great River Road.

Whether you're in the mood for dinner in the classic and traditional setting of the indoor dining rooms or choose to sit on the shady patio, you can expect good food and great friendly service.

Vegetarian foods are available. We offer a large selection of domestic and imported beer as well as over 35 different wines available by glass or bottle.
